That’s what I do.”ĭiscussing her “very special trip”, Kesha said, “I went off by myself and lived on a boat and went camping for awhile and was helping to rehabilitate baby lions and swimming with whales and sharks, just getting in touch with animals. On how important partying is to her, she said, “I like to think of my life as a party. The American pop singer talked about partying, her special trip between albums, what is a baby party for her, and what she’d do if the world were to end tomorrow. Listen to Bridgit’s whole album preview below, and you can purchase it on iTunes now here.Kesha “Ke$ha” Sebert recently visited You FM in Germany while promoting her latest album ‘Warrior’. That being said, Hello My Name Is… will get some space on my running playlist, and who knows, I might even be caught jamming out to a couple tracks in the car. I see Bridgit facing the problem many young stars with even younger fans face: where is the line between being true to yourself in your music and being true to your fans in your music? Sometimes it’s hard to do both when you have young listeners who don’t understand (or care) about more mature topics. While some of the songs do sound very similar in their production and many of the lyrics are simplistic and sugary, there are definitely a few tracks that are bound to catch everyone’s ear. Overall, Bridgit’s debut album is one worth giving a listen. This is probably my favorite song out of them all it’s relatable, age-appropriate (unlike some of the songs where the lyrics could be more mature), and emotionally charged. Not that there’s anything wrong with being blonde, being blonde is great! But was there really not another cutesy self-deprecating quality to sing about besides a hair color that might not even be natural? “Hold On For Dear Love” is the last track on the album, and the token ballad on the record that every pop recording artist has to include. I also am not crazy about the fact that it’s about being blonde.
“Blonde” does it job in making me sing along unabashedly, but I am a bit hung up on the lyrics in which are extremely simple. “City Lights” is probably the best song all around in that it’s one of the stronger songs lyrically, metaphorically, and has a nice chorus.
#Fugees bridgit mendler ready or not windows
It has a simple beat, a catchy chorus, and fun back up vocals at the bridge that make you want to sing along and rewind to summer so you can blare it through the speakers with the windows down.
“Hurricane” comes in at track 04 and opens with a pseudo-rap that’s very Karmin-esque. Biases aside for my intense love of Lauryn Hill, I mean come on: The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill is one of the best albums of all time, Hello My Name Is… has some good tracks! The album opens with the song “Ready Or Not.” I am not fond of this song simply because the lyrics remind me so much of “Ready Or Not” by The Fugees, where Lauryn Hill famously sings lines of a very similar ring in the chorus. If you’re not tuned into the bubble gum pop scene, you may not have heard of it, but there are definitely some songs worth listening to. Bridgit Mendler, most widely known for her role on Good Luck Charlie, released her debut album last week.
